I am putting some suggested links on this site to help students gather information on the 15 countries we are studying.  Of the various sites I have looked at, I like the eurasianet.org best of all. It covers the Post-Soviet countries from Armenia and Georgia in the west to all of the "-stans" across Central Asia.  It is very detailed and appears to be serviced by people with U.S. backgrounds -- particularly scholars from various U.S. institutions. Some of the other sites are recommended simply because they give you a flavor of what these countries have to offer:  from the stodgy official websites of places like Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, to the much more "Western" approach on sites for the Baltic Republics and Ukraine.
